Believe me or not...

I am now beginning to code my new DirectQB. There was a delay due to graphics card problems... At any rate, it's gonna have graphics reaching 1024x768 and true colors and mixable sound and pretty 3D stuff (Binary Space Partioning!) and so on and so forth. You get the idea. So as I said believe me or not but im workin' on it! Oh yeah and im tossing the "dqb" before each command cause it's annoying and it reminds me of Dairy Queen!

Good luck with that... but uGL is essentially what you are attempting, except already written. :)

I personally think the dqb is a good idea; it helps avoid namespace pollution.

you know you might want to ask lillo about this just to get the Okay to use his lib name and API system

Your right, I was considering asking him but figured it was okay. So if your there lilo, give me a heads up! And as for how long it will take, Ill be posting updates in EXE form on Mystic's ASCII site so you can see progress, I dunno because who knows how long ASM coding will take! But yeah I finally got all the info crap I needed like EMS vs. XMS(I chose XMS) and how things like Binary Space Partioning(Came up with a real sweet method, fast too!) and accurate sprite rotation(calculating lines while only rotating the points of the rectangle it's in). Any questions, well it ain't too hard to giure out!

Are you new to QB?

Yes it is big, are you aware of what DirectX is? Well imagine creating DirectX for a language like QB. A guy by the name Angelo did this creating probably the most widely used library that QB has ever seen! Though this DirectQB library lacks a few things. It only supports 320x200x256 graphics, no sound and no 3D support. Of course DirectQB is an amazing library, I just think it needs to be re-written. And so I am Attempting to do just that with high resolution-true color graphics and sound and 3D support!

?GL was made for QB.. it's supposed to be used in QB..
Unfortunately the official ?GL website has gone away..

You can still find it on most QB sites though..

Dont worry about it, Wait... does ugl have sound support? If not, well then at least Ill have one thing up on it!

uGL has sound support, yes (SB 1.0/1.0+/2.0/2.0+/Pro/16 and compatibles), in addition to a whole bunch of other stuff. (As pointed out before, http://www.phatcode.net/downloads.php?id=195 - I would recommend downloading it just to look at the source code). It most definitely works with QB.

With FB available.. I'd have to say yes..

Ofcourse, nothing is stopping you from doing it anyways, it would most likely be a useful experience..

Yeah, its one thing to make a program... "With the help of DirectQB" its another thing to say "Made by (insert name here), and (insert name here) only!"
