QB64 error : No such file or directory

this is the second time QB64 has started giving me troubles and not working.
Once again files are seemingly randomly disappearing within my QB64 folder and now it wont compile anything.
this seems to just happen for no apparent reason.
now when I start QB64 and try to get it compile just a simple 1 line code , the compile fails.
QB64 says "C++ compilation failed" and the file 'compilelog.txt" reads "g++: error: CreateProcess: No such file or directory"
can anyone help me with this??
