That's if you want FreeBASIC, which is really good.

IF you want QuickBASIC ummm....Search for "QB4.5 + download" on google.

free basic all it does it turn it into a txt document and whenever i try to start up free basic it pops up then disapears

Freebasic is a compiler, not an editor...you can type your programs in VonGodric's IDE or in your fav text editor then you call FBC.EXE <your file name here> to compile the bas file into an executable.

Then goto downloads, its right on top of the list, can't miss it... Its the IDE and every thing...

well i got qbasic 4.5 with complier i went to turn somethinbg into a .EXE and asked me for new file spec i dont know what to do from there help me

Oh, thats because you got a bad one without all the libs, you didn't unpack all the libs, your QB IDE is in a directory with/out the libs it needs to compile, or your IDE is linked to a folder with-out the right libs...

Either way, you need to redownload and unpack right, or find one of the errors I put above and correct it..

I think he means the window that pops up that says what file to write the exe to.

If that is, just say a file name you want to make (.exe extesion) also check the stand alone .exe check box. Then click make .exe.

that helps but everytime i type it in it say bad file name i typed in METROID.EXE extension and it said bad file name

Ok, well then I'll just have to give you what I have and see if that works, cause I didn't have a problem...and I have XP lol
