Good old days.

GarryRicketson mentioned in another thread that a "good old days" discussion would be cool, so i thought i'd start it out. i'm also curious to see who's using this site and meet the new people too (i haven't been here in years. )
i learned about QBasic maybe around 2000 (far from the good old days) from Mallard's tutorials over at the original QBasic.com. i downloaded and played just about every game there. They were awful, but so much fun because they were understandable, modifiable, and there was a sense of connection with the authors since they were just bored kids like me.
The QBasic zines were always great. Are there any still going?
Come on! Let's have a nostalgia thread...
