Importing 3D Objects into FreeBasic?

Ive just finished a really SWEET 3D map editor and and now I'm having some trouble making a program to import 3D objects. I do have a few small tutorials from Basic4gl, but I haven't been able to adapt them to FreeBasic. I wold like to use Truespace as the designer but its files are very hard to read through and un-code. So any 3D art designer will be fine.
Does anyone have or know where to find a 3D object importer and/or tutorials for FreeBasic?
What would be the best 3D studio to use for this project?
Do you think building a 3D object studio would be necessary?

I'm pretty sure I've seen .obj import code floating around out there, but that's about it. You might try to freebasic.net forums for something like this...

You should check Frank Dodd's Irrlicht wrapper for FreeBASIC:

Anyway, switching to 3D my good man?
Hope this is not a total shift and we'll see more 2D stuff from you.
BTW, thanks for that email. Got my reply?
Thanks and Please Keep the ideas comming.

No, I haven't completely changed over. I'm sure there will be many more 2D games coming soon. I do have a few 2D ideas in the works in a few languages. (trying to get back into VC++6, and VB)
I Guess I just got caught up in the FB libraries and really wanted to explore making a 3D game. But, My passions are definitely in the 2D Adventure realm.
Thanks for the tips guys. Ill tell you if they pay off.
Please keep the ideas coming.
If you want to see my incomplete map editor (its all keyboard controls), shoot off an email to
Zogies@hotmail.com and Ill make a help.txt for the key inputs and send it to you. It was my first attempt so its kinda balky and messy.
