After my article in QB Express, I decided to see the publics opinion.
What if you're making sumfin like Linux?Nodtveidt wrote:They have this overwhelming tendency to suck, so I voted accordingly.
That goes double for "QB OSes". Raise your hand if you're guilty of making one!
*unfortunately, has to raise own hand*
I've never seen your Linux-like project so I can't comment on it. What I'm referring to is the vast number of "gee whiz" graphical programs that suck rancid toenail clippings through a pink twisty straw. And there's a lot of them out there. EVERY "QBOS" of this type I've ever seen thus far is complete crap, even the one I made years ago (KAOS). You simply cannot make something performant and useful in QB; it's simply not possible without a buttload of assembly, and by then, you might as well just make a REAL operating system in assembly anyways (I've done this as well [SockOS], it's a lot of work but worth the effort, and you really learn a lot about how the computer works internally).Seb McClouth wrote:What if you're making sumfin like Linux?
