A post was pinned to this forum outlining how to ask questions about writing specific programs (like your homework or similar specific routines (say matrix multiplication or font routines))?
something along the lines of
1. Explain programs objective
2. Provide your coding attempt
3. Explain your problem(s) with the code
I don't mean it in a "Follow our rules or we won't listen to you!", more write out the information they need to supply us with, so that we can help them.
anybody?

Matt's idea is fundamentally sound. However, we have to be careful not to get too structured or bureaucratic with our requirements, or we risk chasing newbies and guests away.
Kinda reminds me when you click on getting some free software or information on the web and a multiple page application-type document appears with 50 personal questions about you. Usually I just forget it.

moneo, that's exactly what I was getting at. I don't mean a "READ THESE RULES AND GUIDLINES BEFORE POSTING" thread... I mean a more Here's how to help us help you...
I just means that (if they abide by it) we won't have to go through the same old explanation of why we won't do their homeowork for them, post your code, ask a specific question etc. Hopefully it'd make people less pissed off, which would probably mean a better quality answer.
If they don't abide by it, everything will go the way it has been (But I can see some people responding with "Read Posting Guidlines", and nothing else)...
