Deadline for QB Express #8 Submissions
Deadline for QB Express #8 Submissions
Yep, it's that time again. The March issue of QB Express (#8) is right around the corner. It's already time to start rounding up articles.
The deadline for QB Express #8 submissions is March 15th, 2005.
Like always, we need tutorials, reviews, articles, news stories, comics, challenges, editorials and more. I also need a game to feature in the Gallery. You guys should have a pretty good handle on what we publish in the zine now, so if you want to write, just put together an article and send it in.
You can PM me, or email articles to: pberg1 AT gmail.com

Where are the specs for game reviews again?
- does the game have to be made with QB and Family? Or does it not matter?
- presentation style (template to follow) etc etc?

Right now, we only review only QB / FB games. (I don't want people reviewing C++ games... or PS2 and Gamecube games either. After all, it is a QB/FB magazine. )
As far as format goes, you can choose anything you're comfortable with. You can write the review out in longhand (IGN.com style), or split it up into several categories and do subratings (V Planet! style). Or pick some other format in between.

I thought this was a QBCommunity magazine. That the only reason we let FB in was because a lot of QB users were migrating toward it.
So if a known QB member made a game, in C++, wouldn't that be worthy of review?

Um... that's a tough call. I'd prefer not to have reviews of programs written in other platforms, because when someone releases a game written in C++, even if they were formerly or still are a member of the QB community, that program really has nothing to do with the QB scene anymore.Levi wrote:I thought this was a QBCommunity magazine. I can see making some exceptions though. For example, Angelo Mottola's Wetspot 3 is written in C++, and many people in the QB / FB community would be very interested to see a review of that. But that's a sequel to a QB game made by a very revered QB programmer. Most random C++ games written by former QBers really have no place in QB Express.

Mitth, your never going to get a artical like, PM, or EMail him if your unsure..Mitth'raw'nuruodo wrote:For the last time! I'm NOT doing the game review!
But I could do a 2D animation tut. (Rotations, making pics bigger, smaller) basicaly anything that aren't sprites. Get back to me if your interested, and anything specific on what you need on the tut.
As for me, that Artical(If I find time),. and the Comic.. What to make the horses do this month??,.. hmmm..*Strolls off thinking*

Trust me... if I spoke everything I though on this board... ho... you would hate me more than people at school.
Heh, they hate me. Today, in the gym locker rooms I got pushed on the floor for being annoying! They hate me soooo much!
I also run into people, shove them in their locker while singing the muffin man! I am soo annoying!
Its fun

i don't hate any body, but I don't like bullies. You need to sort your priorities if you think hurting ppl is fun!!
Hmm, just a note.. I got the scetch up on me comic and just need to convert it onto my comp.. My next part in my animations tut is starting, need to sort some facts out, so that might not make it this month, but be hopeful, I'm trying! yes...
As for QB Horse Humor, lets just say they in up in a akward position.. funny or not (tho I hope it is) you find out alot about 'em...
