I got it too, which is hilarious considering I run FreeBSD and am completely immune to Windows viruses. :)

It appears like every user on the forum got it.

I have banned this IP and deleted the account. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

I installed an Anti-Spam suite for this forum a while ago and up to this point, it had been nearly flawless at blocking spambots. Only human spammers were able to post anything. I'm hoping, at the very least, that this was a human spammer and not a bot.

Well, shouldn't EK's link be removed too?

Only a jerk would post it in the forum!

I really don't know actually, but I am not clicking it because normally it turns into a personal assault from anonymous buttheads trying to protect me! I NEED PROTECTED FROM THEM usually.

Last week, I tried to update some drivers for a sound attachment gadjet and now it keeps popping up! So I uninstalled the CRAP and now I get a DLL NOT FOUND ERROR. Welcome to Regedit if you can find me...

MAKE ME REINSTALL XP AGAIN! MAKE ME UPDATE ALL OF THE WINDOWS UPDATES! The solutions are WORSE than the problems anymore. Everybody is a crook or a thief as far as the web goes! I BEEN THERE!

Yep, I just got one from BestForumAdmin. Pete, you need more admins here to take care of this stuff or this forum's going to spammer hell. :(

I removed a new imbicile who apparently waited a while and then mass messaged spam to all members.

Once they are tossed, the message diasappears too.

how about a QB specific question that only a programmer would know that has to be verified before a new account can be created? Something that a determined person could google if they needed to, but hard enough to discourage malicious behavior?

This board is old, but perhaps forcing users to enter a group of random letters to join could keep the SPAM BOTS out.

I have no idea how they can message everybody yet!

how about a bot who's programmed to find out every possible function (limited or unlimited) a forum has? The programmers are getting smarter and the programs (or bots if you prefere) are getting bigger... so who knows...
