Perhaps I didn't upload it correctly. I'll do it again today when I come back from work.

I fixed it. The .htaccess file was the problem.

Well done Mark this is a big improvement on the old site and should last well into the future.
I only have one small problem at the moment and that is having to scroll accross the page.

Page looks good, but Roy is right. Try to keep it sized less than it is now.

Nobody wants to scroll.

Otherwise, good job!

What resolution are you guys using, so I can test it out in that. I'm using 1440x900 (widescreen laptop).

VIRUS alert at Qbasic.com games link!

Post by burger2227 »

Though something like this was mentioned a while ago, I wanted to note that when I went to QBasic.com and clicked Games it took me to a page that caused Avast Antivirus to pop up saying a virus trojan/worm has been detected:

DO NOT CLICK this LINK if not protected! http://www.qbasic.com/games/\unp189061300

Phylogenesis

Just thought I would pass this on. The trojan is named JS\Wonka.

JS.Wonka isn't a threat in and of itself, but if it's got a payload with it then it can cause some damage, depending on how it's loaded. It can be a pain to remove once you've got it, but not nearly as bad as some of the more aggressive trojans out there.

I'm using 1024*600 on my Eee PC. :)

It's a tiny screen (8.9") but the perfect laptop for traveling.

I think the browser text size also may make the page screen larger. I had to increase it to read some web pages easier.

As to the Trojan, I don't want to even find out what it's payload is! I like Avast as it blocks the page from coming up. There is NO excuse to allow a virus or trojan to linger on a web site!

Perhaps Avast is incorrectly identifying it? I downloaded all the files to my laptop. My antivirus, Avira, would have caught something if it was actually there. But it didn't give me any alerts (I still have the files).

Other than that, could you possibly give a better link than you did? Because going to QBasic.com/games gives me no alert at all and the URL you provided is obviously not valid.

Btw, just got back from my family's thanksgiving. How about you guys?

There's no reason for it to report a virus upon visiting a simple webpage. You're not even downloading anything. I think they call this a "false positive".

I am just reporting what I found Mark. I am not going to rationalize it or turn off my AV to visit the page!

I gather that JS may denote a Java Script intrusion.

Do what you will, but I am sure that others will be blocked hopefully. Why would they take a chance on it? I will not. I have had a few viruses already. Right now I have a spam one that required me to authenticate my emails. Another one made XP load very slow until I fixed it. Enough is enough!

I think I know why it was saying that it has malware. In looking at the HTML, there's some JavaScript that runs an "eval" on an escaped-character sequence, which translates to creating an IFRAME pointing to "http://orentraff.cn/in.cgi?3". I also found hidden honeypot ads like "buy cheap $$$" and the likes, within a hidden DIV.

I think the Games section needs a revamp.

Mark, could you please email me the new FTP logon for QBGD account. The last is not working (naturally, you changing the server), and I'm not sure the last email address I have from you is your current one.

Thanks.

If you have a copy of the clean files, it would be awesome if you could overwrite the shitty ones I have. Thanks in advance.

I'll email you FTP details.
