long file names

long file names

I am writing a file into a dos directory via qbasic and I need a file name longer then 8 characters. Any ideas?

Yes he did. The solution would be to work with an 8.3 filename in QB and then use a SHELL "Cmd /C ren shortnme.ext longname.ext" in NT or XP.

Use SHELL "Command ........ in Win9x.
