$100 USD to the first person who can prove the theory of evolution to be true.
For God so loved the world he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him shall have everlasting life.

Here's something interesting:

1) Take your hand, and hold it straight out in front of you, palm facing away.

2) Now, spread your fingers as wide as they can possibly go.

Notice the webbing between your fingers just above the first set of knuckles?

My hypothesis is that it's a remnant from when we were all amphibians, and we needed webbed feet to swim.

Oh, also, you idiots should read up on: Theory
There's no need to prove it, as it's a theory. All evidence point towards it being true, but it's not proven, thus theory.

Unlike, say, the crappy contradicting book called the bible.

Guess what, you cant reply to either of my two messages, cause jesus says so, "love your enemy", as such, you can only reply if you agree with me.

Enjoy your religion!

Z!re: I have a challenge for you.
Show me some passages where the Bible contradicts itself.
As for the computer, Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel"- and a computer is much faster than walking.
For God so loved the world he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him shall have everlasting life.

No, I'm way too busy to find some passage to please your narrow mind.
Also, typing on a computer does not equal walking, or going.
And uhm, if Jesus said that, why are you preaching the bible? Which isnt Jesus word, it's written by other people, and as such, angled from their point of view.
But I cant type anymore now, the bible says I have to sacrifice a goats head cause I'm having my period, see ya.

EDIT: Do you think two doves would be enough? I'm fresh out of goat heads.

i told ya there would be a flame war didnt i?

ZIRE! nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

i see we touched a RAW nerve... :(

well im not sure what website you got that off of Zire
but there are so many errors i don't even know
where to begin...

needless to say with some serious study and reading
verses/chapters before and after the "quoted" verse
can explain alot...alot of the above are "interpretations"
not EXACT quotes of the verses....and one has to also
understand there are differences betwix the old testament
and the new testament one is based on law and one is
based on the new convenant of mercy thru Christ and
his shed blood......

alot fo the old testment is also referencing the
victory and coming of Christ not nessisarily
the event of the moment...

some is also spiritual in nature not literal in nature
and visa versa...

what you've posted would take a month of sundays
(hint hint) to walk thru to say the least... :D

truley they can be resolved if you can gather a few
like minded ministers and have a sit down with them...

i am NOT however saying the above verses are
easy to understand i've been reading and studying
for 35+ years and still get confused even AFTER
understanding something...depends on if i am
1/2 awake, tired, in a bad mood...etc...

theologically christianity is a mess , logically its a mess.

but this is besides the point the original post was about proving evolution.
personally by this point i would be willing to say evolution is a theorem because of the insane about of evidence that points to this being true. but in the end the only way to finally class evolution as a theorem by the strictest definition of the term it to well watch it happen and that going to take a few million years.

but as it stands evolution is at the moment one of the core theories of biology. to shed some light on this its biology equivalent to physics general relativity. and there lots of evidence to support it.

if you want to see evolution happening up close look at any virus i.e. HIV it the perfect example of evolution since its ability to copy it own RNA is so bad it make massive mistakes that why its so good at getting around HIV antivirals since a few of them are going to have mutation that allow them to exist and get around the current selection force the anti viral $$$ are producing.

if you want to see evolution up close for your self just take a look at genetic algorithms they model exactly how evolution works.

Yes, ShadowWolf, I agree with the virus. Micro-evolution is true. Anyone who denies Micro-evolution should be shot, because we see it. However, where is your proof that given millions of years, seperation, and a need to change, the species will change? I see no concrete evidence of it.

In other words:
Micro evolution: Fact.
Macro evolution: Theory.

Bibble: Book, what someones claims to be real truth, with out any evidence.
Christianity is when human is in a dark, totally empty room looking for a cat and he even claims that he did find it
Cant remember who sayd that.[/quote]

Not only bible... every religion does that
they believe whatever they preach to be a fact....
Relegion is crap..we have to follow weird traditions and all which sometimes are obscure....well if not in christianity it is in hinduism...

$100 USD to the first person who can adequately explain why Skyler has done two things:

1. Promised $1000 in the thread topic but a mere $100 in the thread itself
2. Has started YET ANOTHER religious thread of complete bullshit

I think I can answer #2...he's so insecure in his own religion that he has to try attacking scientific theory, completely ignorant of the actual concept of a theory and therefore ignorant of how the scientific method works. But that's perfectly understandable, as the vast majority of religious zealots are ignorant of the scientific method anyways. Since they can't prove their own doctrine, they think they can force others to "prove theirs".

microevolution and macroevolution are the same things really. it just a scaling issue. you get to see the process at work on virus in a reasonable period of time simple because of the less complex nature.

human , animals are much more complex so it take millions of years to see any real evolution that you can well point to and say yeah that evolution for ya. and for humans we have pretty much removed ourselves from the evolutionary process thanks to our technology, there is no longer any kind selection force that can be placed on us as a species that we can't remove via technology.

anyways the simple fact micro evolution is true means macro evolution is true. humans and other higher order species use really complex genetic tricks with gene's serving multiple roles because of this it doesn't take much for a few key mutations to cause some massive changes. just look at what happens to communities with massive inbreeding.

Lol. Yeah, except for the primary "selection force" in evolutionary theory known in layman's terms as "death". Evolution is all about tracing changes in a population which are ultimately determined by the deaths of population members, and up to this point, no technological innovation has removed that key "selection force" so far.

Macro evolution is evolution into new species, while micro evolution is within the species. Just thought I'd say that.
