Qlympics!

Post by Pete »

I'm thinking about bringing back the Qlympics, the Gaming Gold Awards, or make a new community-wide awards competition. There's been a huge void in the QB/FB community since the Gaming Golds ended in 2003 (or was it 2002?), and I think we should fill that.

So here's the plan:
I'm going to do a community-wide nomination round, and a final voting round a month later. Everyone will be allowed to vote (once). Then I'd write up the articles and deliver the awards in a special edition of QB Express.

I'd also like to recruit a graphics designer to make awards for all of the winners, and also some other writers to help me cover the competition. I will manage the competition, organize the voting, and do the lion's share of the writing -- but help would be appreciated.

This will probably be a few months off, but I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions. Let's hear 'em!

Syn9's Griffon Legend. So far, it's hard to beat :-). But as you might have noticed, there's alot of games being made. so Griffon Legend has some wild competition on the way.

You know you can count on me to help writing...as for a graphics designer? I think there's plenty of people out there 300% more gifted than me. hehe. just let me know what you need as far as writing goes :-). I'll help any way I can.

Great to hear that you're on board!

As for Griffon Legend....If we wait another few months (which will probably end up happening), Lynn's Legacy will give Griffon Legend a real run for its money!

I didn't think Griffon Legend was all that impressive...Lynn's Legacy definately takes the cake in terms of top FB game made to date, even in its demo state. Poxie gets second place in my book...

Are you drunk Nek? Not impressive? To me, Griffon Legends, was a one-of-the-kind when I played it and I rate it as one of the best rpgs ever made in qb/fb. But yeah, we all have different taste :D

I also expect greatness from Lynn's Legacy, the demo was really cool. It would be cool if more people made realtime-battle rpgs...

I'm aware of Nek's low opinion of The Griffon Legend too and I agree with Jocke on this. This gives me chills about the upcoming Qlympics community voting. Look how the first round of "Best QB Game Developer of All Time Tournament" poll went. Relsoft and Adigun Polack are better game developers than Typosoft, Hamster Republic and Pieslice Productions??!? Gimme a break.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE! :P
