Microsoft making more of the Windows 10 built-in apps removable
The ability to remove these apps doesn't really mean much in terms of disk space or convenience, as none of them are very big. The move may be of more interest to corporate deployments; an organization that has standardized on Outlook, for example, might want to remove the Mail and Calendar apps to reduce user confusion.

Microsoft’s problem isn’t how often it updates Windows—it’s how it develops it
The problem with Windows as a Service is quality. Previous issues with the feature and security updates have already shaken confidence in Microsoft's updating policy for Windows 10. While data is notably lacking, there is at the very least a popular perception that the quality of the monthly security updates has taken a dive with Windows 10 and that installation of the twice-annual feature updates as soon as they're available is madness. These complaints are long-standing, too. The unreliable updates have been a cause for concern since shortly after Windows 10's release.
YET Microsoft sure knows how to slow down Chrome!

NEXT computer will be LINUX! Had enough of this crap!

Microsoft is positioning Always-Connected PCs as the future of business devices
Speaking of Windows 10 in S Mode, which Microsoft has been working to get OEMs to ship on PCs -- especially Always Connected ones -- there will be a new requirement in Windows 10 1809 (the October Update) for Windows 10 Pro in S Mode devices. Devices running Pro in S Mode will be required to have Internet Connectivity as an out-of-the-box requirement, and will require users to log in with Azure Active Directory if those devices are enrolled in AutoPilot, as officials noted at the Microsoft Ignite IT pro conference.
Windows 10 Bug Allowed UWP Apps Full Access to File System
A bug in Windows 10 allowed UWP (Universal Windows Platform) apps to have access to the entire file system in Windows without permission from the user. This could have allowed a malicious app to access any data stored on the computer without the knowledge or consent of the user.
Microsoft Adds Linux Perks to Windows 10 October 2018 Update
Microsoft is adding more perks to its beleaguered Windows 10 October 2018 Update (also known as version 1809), which is still suspended after a botched Oct. 2 release. The fixed release, which could come next week, will have a few added options for Windows Subsystem for Linux users,

This week, Microsoft announced that the Windows Subsystem for Linux will support additional Linux distros. The supported distros, currently available from the Microsoft Store, include:

Ubuntu 18.04
OpenSuse 15 and Suse Linux Enterprise Server 15
WLinux

These Linux distros additionally can be installed manually using the Windows Console command-line interface, Microsoft's announcement indicated.

Erratic Windows 10 Bug Breaks Changing of Default File Associations
Windows 10 users are stating that when they try to change the default program used to open a particular file extension, such as .txt files, they are unable to associate it with popular Notepad replacements such as Notepad++. On the other hand, they have no problem changing the file association to a different one.

Windows 10 activation bug baffles, angers users
Microsoft is working on a fix for a bug in its activation server that has caused Windows 10 Pro machines to report that their license has not been activated.

The issue was causing panic for some Windows 10 users who reported on Reddit that the bug "deactivated" Windows because it switched the machine from Pro to Home, and those licenses didn't match.
Alexa now available on Windows 10 PCs in Windows Store
Amazon is releasing its Alexa app for Windows 10 today. While the app has been available on select Windows 10 laptops recently, today marks its launch in the Microsoft Store for all Windows 10 PCs. You can download and install it on any Windows 10 PC, but only compatible devices will support Alexa wake word functionality. If you don’t have a compatible PC then you can hit the button within the app to speak to Alexa, or invoke the assistant using a keyboard shortcut.

Windows-as-a-service fail: Microsoft keeps customers in the dark
The closest equivalent for Windows 10 is the Windows 10 Update History page, which offers documentation concerning feature updates and cumulative reliability and security updates. That page shows that the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) was released on October 2, 2018. Over the next four days, an unknown number of Microsoft customers downloaded and installed that update.

Several days later, Microsoft pulled that release from its update servers and took the unprecedented step of also removing the installation files from its download servers. At that time, the company revised the text on Update History page to include this note: "We have paused the rollout of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809)* for all users as we investigate isolated reports of users missing some files after updating."

Microsoft says all of those issues were fixed in cumulative updates that were released on October 16 and October 20, respectively. But if you were one of the enthusiastic souls who downloaded and installed version 1809 in the first week that it was available, you have not received those updates. To get the fixes for what are undeniably serious bugs in a version of Windows 10 that was released through public channels, you have to add your device to the Windows Insider Program and choose the Slow or Release Preview Ring.
Last desktop update was October 9, 2018—KB4464330 (OS Build 17763.55) on October 16 V1809

Today Laptop got 2018-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x86-based Systems (KB4462933)
