QB Express #21 Needs Submissions!

QB Express #21 is due out in less than two weeks, and so far I have gotten only ONE submission: a tutorial by MystikShadows. No articles, no reviews, no news briefs, no comics, nothing. This is NOT good.

But it's not too late! Let's make #21 just as good as all the other QB Express issues -- it can happen if you WRITE something! Tutorials, editorials, game reviews, rants, letters to the editor, comics, interviews, anything -- we need it all! Write as much as you possibly can in the next ten days, and send it to me at pberg1@gmail.com. (If you need an idea for an article, check out the QB Express article requests thread.)

Deadline: June 20th, 2006.

I need everything by June 20th so that I can put the issue together. It's a short timeframe, but I know we can pull it off!

Thanks, and I look forward to seeing the articles swarming into my inbox. :)

Is there a category for submitting the strangest article? Mine would qualify I think. :)

rdc, you mean the "Really Disfunction Coding Practice" one??? LOL

Note, that title was fictional, but it fits the subject lol.

Hey sid, the Amazon gift certificate seems like a pretty cool deal!

I'll make a poll after #21 comes out with all the articles, and whoever gets the most votes wins the certificate. (As long as you're still up for giving it away, heheh).

The deadline's quickly approaching! You have until the 20th of June. That means...

THREE DAYS LEFT!

It's not looking very good so far. Since my last post, I've received several comics, several newsbriefs, some letters to the editor, an article and a tutorial. That means I've got just two tutorials and one full-fledged article.

NOT GOOD.

But I'm not concerned....yet.

A lot of you have said you're going to write articles and send them in. Well, you've got three days. Get to work!

I've gotten quite a few more submissions in the past few days for QB Express #21, but still not nearly as many articles as most issues. Many people have told me that a few more days will give them the time to finish their articles....well, your wish is my command!

DEADLINE EXTENDED TO SATURDAY, JUNE 24th!

If you have time to write something, please do it. Remember, this is an open magazine written BY the community, FOR the community.

I'm especially looking for: GAME REVIEWS, TUTORIALS, and an upcoming game to preview in the next GALLERY.

As always, you can send your submissions to: pberg1@gmail.com

By the way, this issue WILL come out in June, probably even this coming weekend.

QB Express is getting back on its regular, MONTHLY publication schedule.

not sure how many we're at, I know he received a few since that first deadline announcement, and I quote "I've gotten quite a few more submissions in the past few days for QB Express #21" so it's looking good, he just got one more from me too today. So let's hope...atleast 5 is a great number...6, 7 8 or more is awesome ;-)..

Still a couple days people, today, tomorrow, friday and saturday itself ;-) get typing :-)

Yep, we've surpassed six. Currently I've got:
  • four tutorials (two by MystikShadows, one by Relsoft and one by Rick Clark);

    four articles / editorials (3 by SJ Zero and 1 by Rick Clark);

    five comics (QB Horse Humor, 0 1 comics and 3 Stickboy comics);

    two letters to the editor (mennonite and MystikShadows);

    and a bunch of news briefs (4 from MystikShadows, and a lot of info that people have sent in that I'll write up myself)
I may have missed something too...I'm not on my own computer right now.

Also, if time permits, I've got ideas for several articles. I usually don't end up writing stuff myself since I already have to write like 20 pages of my own stuff per issue anyway, between all my sections...but we'll see.

It's looking pretty good so far (way better than I expected), but that's still the fewest number of articles we've had in quite some time. Hopefully more stuff comes in by Saturday!

I just saw that Deleter had already posted an article about dynamic arrays in a type-def in a past issue so my tutorial is probably not worth printing since it contains pretty much the same info. I don't want to be accused of stealing someone's idea. I hadn't realized that this info had already been covered.

rdc. Submit it anyways
the more articles that cover a certain topic, the better. you may have some trick to teach us. :*)
