anyone with code to do mic recordings or voice recognition or even sampeling in qb?

You need a sound card that you can control, old ISA based Sound Blasters are quite easy, and there's enough documentation.

all my computers a SB compatible and the "playwave" I have works ok in my program but how do I get the microphone or record samples?

You need to use a different DSP command to get recording actions going on...
I have no idea from where I got the SB programming manual, it happened some 3 years ago...

an 8 bit mono record wave is what I am looking for the mic is an analog device the DSP is for midi A microphone is an analog device and it isnt digital. atleast not untill after it is processed that is what it is i am looking for..
