Maybe Harry Potter is an Aries...this kind of behavior is virtually a trademark of the sign...I would know.

The OBJ files are the object code that the compiler generates. They're used at the link phase to produce the final executable. Once the EXE is built, you no longer have a need for them, and can delete them.

MrBill, it is possible that the original EXE may have different libraries linked in. Also, one might be compiled for use with BRUN45, and the other standalone. These two details can produce EXEs of different sizes. How large of a discrepancy are you talking about though?

Still, you might want to send the source causing that problem to the devs. It could be indicative of a legitimate problem with the compiler.

That's an error in the compiler itself. It means the compiler is trying to access memory it doesn't have access to, and it's bailing. Likely a buffer error.

That's pretty interesting...maybe they went after more legacy compatibility fixes than previously stated.

I'm staying with Windows XP only until Two Lords is finished; after that, I'm going to FreeBSD full-time, where I already have my own dedicated BASIC compiler and all the C/C++ compilers one could ever want. If I need to run Windows there, I'll just run it through vmware.

Of course they're waiting for bugs, that's why it's beta. The best way to accumulate a good bug report list is to do an open (or "wild") beta. Hell, I'm still running XP SP1... Windows 7 won't be any better for DOS apps than Vista is, since that particular part of the OS hasn't been touche...

Going very slowly. It was supposed to be finished already, but we ran into problems. I've set the deadline for March 31st, and if it isn't 100% completed by then, it gets shelved permanently.

DOOM is certainly much better than Quake, though I would argue that Quake II is slightly better than both.

JS.Wonka isn't a threat in and of itself, but if it's got a payload with it then it can cause some damage, depending on how it's loaded. It can be a pain to remove once you've got it, but not nearly as bad as some of the more aggressive trojans out there.

It bugs me because 2.5D doesn't exist. All 3D games are really 2D because they're displayed on a 2D screen. If it looks 3D, it IS 3D and that's just how it works. :P Anyways, there were a couple of attempts at QB versions of DOOM but no one ever got very far. Someone even did a Quake 2 map viewer, b...

38 out of 40. Only ones I couldn't check off were "contributing to the ABC packets" and "do you remember NeoStar".

DarkDread is still around, btw...he pops up once a year or so on RPGDX and GDR. :D

TmEE, what RPG?
