Ahhhh.... I was wondering why so many QB sites adopted that message board style.

I wasn't really online until 2001/2002 since I was a wee lad in 1997 and didn't have my own PC until 1999.

Wow, almost every QB site used the same message board format: http://web.archive.org/web/20010803104155/http://neozones.tekscode.com/qboard.php3 Just like FlatForum (by Plasma) and QB45's original message board. I think Marcade scooped up the domain but I'm not sure. Also qbasicfreak, QBARP (QBasic ...

The whole site would be better since the weary wonderer might click on a link just out of curiosity and wonder why it's broken. I'll PM you FTP details if you want to FTP it to the QB Archive Project (qbarp) site.

I've got some studying to do so why don't you archive it? This is a community so it wouldn't be right to be the only one doing it.

qbasicfreak, didn't you say you'd archive it too? I just save 2 sites but one I missed was nickjc67's QBasic Tutorial site. I had a lot of work this past week so I feel stupid for not getting around to archiving it. I'll probably be able to find it on the WayBack Machine but it's still very tough si...

But you can still archive it. The WayBack Machine is always available and Google's index of the sites should exist for a few more days at least.

I created a website to download and archive websites that users wish: http://www.sixbynine.net/sitecollector/

It downloaded UnderWARE Labs perfectly. I'll see if I can get some more sites downloaded and archived.

Personally it would seem like a real waste of time. The only time I'd really want to hack into someone's forum or site would be if they REALLY REALLY got me mad, like doing the same thing to me first. Other than that, I really don't care what people do. What Zip did, it's like going and taking an ol...

Well I suppose I phrased it wrong in that last post. I meant unfriendly competition. Competition is good and essential but as long as it's friendly competition and not something like Saxons vs. Vikings. I mean it's good to keep improving your code to compete but not so that people turn against each ...

Since when did hobbies and programming for fun turn into competition against others?

And it's better to use longer and more complicated passwords. Most of my passwords are 16-characters of hexadecimals.

I definitely agree with you on that. It seemed like only a few years ago there would've been more action done to stop something like this. Plus it never really got this bad. There were always a few rants and raves but nothing to the extent of this. Plus you'd have to be pretty low or have very narro...

What we need are fresh forums with clean posts and content. At QB45, I don't let any flaming or rants slip by. So netiquette is required if a user wishes to post. That's something that's been a problem on many forums.

Shouldn't these sites be archived? I for one am nostalgic when I see old QB sites I went to from years ago. I'd be willing to host them for fellow QBers. I archived the old QB45.com and MrChrome's GUI Reviews site.

Who cares about cyber-power and arguing about who did what? I suggest it should be handled privately for the consideration of Pete's forums and the other boarders.

That's fine with me. Thanks again Zap! Like I said, QuickHost was cool and I wanted to make a "carbon copy." A lot of QB sites are dying and Qmunities weren't what they used to be.

Yes I did use your design. The site was long gone and I thought there wouldn't be any harm in using it. I apologize for doing so but I wrote the PHP behind this one mainly because QuickHost was so cool. If you want me to change it, I will.

I think if we made it a community, things might seem a little strange since the last post was made in 2005. :P
