It went away after I fixed some syntax errors. I was typing => instead of ->. Still, that was odd since the compiler didn't flag that as an error.

FBC Compiler error

I got an error message "Aborting due to runtime error 12 ("segmentation violation" signal)" when I tried to compile something. It didn't give a line number or anything, it just says that. What does it mean? Is the code I'm trying to compile bringing up the error, or is the compil...

Re: Sorry for the QBE #30 delays

QB Express will come out SOON. Apologies! I got back from my trip through Asia a few weeks ago and have spent the holidays relaxing, visiting friends, and NOT thinking about QB. Some things are higher priority than QB Express, I guess! But rest assured, the next issue will be a good one and will be...

I had a little trouble with putting in the code. I'd kludge it by treating it as a linear array. Like this: 'The "size" of our 2d array const arrayWidth = 12 const arrayHeight = 11 'our arrays dim my2dArray(1 to arrayWidth, arrayHeight) as integer dim my1dArray(1 to arrayWidth * arrayHeigh...

Anybody remember Doom?

Somebody moved it over to flash. Yeah, it still is 2.5D, and runs with no lag. You can find it over at FWA.

Did anybody make a qb or fb Doom clone?

Very happy with the results of the presidential elections as well as the governor and municipals down here in PR, but disgusted with the number of states that voted Yes on Prop 8. What a sickening display of bigotry and discrimination in a country that claims to be the land of the free. Is that the...

I have a handy program that does that for associating my file extensions on the first time, instead of having to look it up. This code is for running fbIde off my jump drive, so it has to do a little searching first. The same idea applies to QB, but you probably don't need all the drive stuff and yo...

That's because the computer looks up the extension's association (.bas is bas_auto_file, I think), then looks up the file type for the association (in this case, bas_auto_file loads up whatever directory it was last told. As far as I know, add/remove programs does not un-associate extensions with th...
