Re: Leviton motion sensing light switch

agreed, I am impressed you know your EET,and electrical, a lot of electrical code experience sensed there to, where you ever a Navy man? journeyman electrician or engineer? I have known 20year vets in the trade not quiet as sharp as you in the field.. I have really pushed my own mental limits in eet...

Re: So you want to install Windows 10 on an XP?

as to moms computer, it probably shuts down quick for one of two reasons, small HDD or "good configuration" or jus having not to much running resident to close. I do know that my little upgrade on the x86 for the living room was a success to me any way.. I really like the dedicated drive f...

Re: Charging Lithium battery packs

right i agree but now about the lithium dieing when you discharge it. they do that because if drained to low, they will allow to much forward current when charging allowing current spike damage to the battery cell layers. they want an aggressive constant current when charging say a 3.7v. that is usu...

Re: Leviton motion sensing light switch

I love the deduction made in a very sherlock holmes style, finding the reflection of the magnifier being the culprit.. that part my fav.. as to the switch not working without ground, the nutral wire, is ground but it isn't isolated. so it can work if the blue to the bulb then back to nutral of thew ...

Re: Charging Lithium battery packs

where nicads are like a cup o current being poured, lithium cells are more analogous to a high tension wire. basically, when a nicad pours out current both voltage and current reduce, till the cup is "half full" and voltage is half the cups rating then it stops. with lithium it maintains i...

Re: So you want to install Windows 10 on an XP?

as i have seen in the last two years microsoft is only interested in extorting more money, selling you goods and services that are failures to say little. I bought my xp from office depot, have the receipt original packaging to as well as the registry key. but when I done my HDD upgrade windows requ...

IDK why but if i use a usb wlan my usb hub and 4 of my 8 flash drives disappear from the hardware manager when i plug in the wlan. has something to do with the driver. 1.0,2.0

Re: Batteriser SCAM!

by all means review it, if you find a solid market, I will run a spool of wire through a rolling mill "it's been reverse engineered here".. if you do find a circuit there it would presumably be a camel hump oscilator producing DC 4.5 and regulated to Vss by resistance but it would have to ...

Re: Charging Lithium battery packs

if 1.7v batteries are reading 3.6v the batteries are most likely bad. nicads i know will do that if over charged,(left on charge to long), and have been known to explode when used because of this. the liquid boils as current passes. if overcharged to double capacity then you can expect double curren...

Re: Batteriser SCAM!

well, I look at it and see only thin copper foil, connected at both ends. I don't see any "segment" marks indicating any kind of inbeded IC device or pole separation. now I never claimed to be an authority in EET but. "a battery having ends connected with copper is by any definition (...

I have been watching the updates roll in, all I am seeing is Microsoft office updates, killbits for it nothing for Xp.. am I missing something? I yanked the "ie8 and office pro" out a few years back, with the last attack I dealt with. now a new browser "my secret" as far as publi...

read thru it all burger, I am not trying to talk you out of the project but through it. windowsxp swap file or page file question.

hi all, I have been trying to boost an older computer for a "guest machine", for the living room. I recently cloned it's teeny old drive 20G, to a larger 60g for the C: plus a 20g for f: I had in the closet already formatted . well I still have that original small 20G drive and it is a fas...

helium or hydrogen can achieve aviation

I would suggest a copper wire with stainless tip(antenna) core for the receiver coil. this will increase input by a volt.

in all actuality all you need is the receiver side there is plenty of transmitter side coming from the transformers in the common home.

Re: How to keep Microsoft updating XP and IE 8

this seems to be good stuff but how long will it all (the web) remain backward compatible? I mean they want you to buy a new machine twice a year and a OS upgrade four times a year right. I am guessing my xp machine will out live me anyway especially the way politics is going this past decade. I am ...

really informative stuff here but seems a bit "brand specific", using a certain hardware or software. Good info either way!
