I'm not a fan of Copyleft licenses like the GPL myself. I prefer a license that doesn't force itself on later users of the code, like the BSD, Apache and Mozilla licenses, where derivatives can be made closed again. Programs that ran almost decently in linux when installed on My PC:
Glade, helix, FreePascal and its IDE...

Linux needs a workstation that runs very fast and efficiantly on all PCs... some small one that performs better than it looks, like some sort of TOS...

Rather pointless since it wouldn't be able to interface with the user in any way... You would still be doing math trying to figure out what you put in the AX register to come up with an answer to the problem you seek to answer...

Not exactly the best idea, I use my mac for everything programming, the only way to go is a PC for that... and probably windows, since it is the most widely used OS in the world...
