Here's an idea. Try making a program in a windowed Screen 0 (default)mode. Add a beep and see if windows gives you a "thunk". It should. By the way, many users are not very happy with QB sounds as some PC's are louder than others. Keep that in mind and perhaps offer an option to not use so...

Some motherboards can be adapted to use a PC speaker. You may be able to add that speaker.

Laptops can often use the stereo sound card instead. QB64 will allow QB programs to use the sound card too.

Appears to be working now. Hope that setting does not cause you problems. They were "Invalid session" errors, but I never was logged out.

Thanks,

True, but there have alwasys been competition between the OS you use and the Programming Language you prefer. C, FB, QB64 and others offer a lot more than QB out of the box. But they all do not adhere to the Basic language. QB can do a lot, but if you need more then use something else. Why fight abo...

I see one problem posting that is very annoying at times.

"Timeout" something or other and you have to retry to post.

No real biggie, but annoying!

Apparently Zip has a lower tolerance for getting Mad, already is MAD or something far worse. Perhaps an Inferiority Complex also. Having met IT, they were not the kind of person I would let around children either. Probably more of a Loner. Often used profanity in example code. You are right on about...

QbasicStation is a good place to Upload your BAS files and code. Just hope you never need to contact the absentee owner.

I do not know why there are so many fervent FB people. After all, FB was originally really a basic version that offered extra abilities. Now it seems that some of them have decided that QB is just a stupid way to program. The challenge for me is to make working programs with a very basic coding lang...

If you don't care about legalities, then just download it! M$ does not prosecute individuals, but may sue download sites. PDS and QB45 are no longer sold either. DO NOT place PDS in the same folder as QB 4.5! PDS has it's own version of QB.EXE called OLDQB.EXE for simpler programs. I feel that it is...

EASY answer! Since one person started upgrading another person's code. Thanks to that idea, coders have always tried to do the "impossible". I am amazed at some of the stuff people have been able to do in QB. After almost 20 years, I can still do a lot more than one would think possible. C...

Sorry Z!re if I misspoke. I don't need any more problems, lol. As for participating in FB, I was banned for life for posting stuff that FB people posted at our N54 site in the QB64 Forum. The attacks were unwarranted! Galleon never intended QB64 to be a FB clone. He is creating a compatable QBasic c...

From what others have told me, especially in a few forums she moderated it does sound like a Zip. But, Zire had a lot of better things to do, I would think, than loafing in a QB place. Either way they know their stuff code and hacking wise.

FB Nazi admins. chased Z!re away. I love tough women!

I have located Zip at Arkansas City Kansas.

It won't be hard to trace IT from there! He could be in deep doo doo!

Presently the N54 site looks like it is being restored. That may take a while, but I cannot get in without a proxy.

N54 LOL

I have been badgering N54 in their public Help forum about site ownership. I have also posted some Zip posts telling everybody how to do it sort of. Like rubbing it in N54's face! Do they mean to tell me that they have NO records of Forum ownership? They surely have a list of owners and contacts! Th...

PDS or QB7.1 is for more advanced programming usually. It has extra memory and functions to use.

It is available online, but is still owned by M$ just like QB4.5 and is supposedly illegal to use if you did not pay for it.

PW

Yes, I got lazy about it and have used them for years. My main concern was not about a posting name, but my account at QbasicStation has also been compromised and the owner is Rarely ever around.

Could you also delete the post above with my accounts listed? Thanks for all of your help!

Always consider where the referenced files are located.

I usually keep all of my work in the folder WITH QB.EXE

Screen 0 for example can use the following with WIDTH columns, rows. Columns can be 40 or 80. Rows can be 25, 43 or 50. So if you set WIDTH 40, 50 then it will return those values. Try WIDTH 80, 60 in Screen 12. The Help index also shows that Screen 9 and 10 can have columns of 80 only and 25 or 43 ...
