As always, I wish to lobby for virtual machines (VM). With today's computers, running a VM is easier than ever. Isn't that exactly what my program does? :P

Besides, if one writes apps systematically, they're easily expandable to include not only bouncing balls but a whole bunch of dynamics stuff.

I think I can help you out a bit here. :) You need to let go of the (x,y) thinking. A ball is not simply described by where it is, but where it's going and how fast that's changing. If you're into used to a static environment, like QB, an approach to an object-oriented language (C++, Java...) can be quite confusing. Learning a new syntax isn't hard, but adjusting how your brain normally thinks is. :)
