Sorry for double post, but I have got around my problem.

Solution was to have my own DOS Critical Error interrupt, which is the DOS int 24h. Little bit more of ASM magic and problem solved 8)

QB traps disk access errors

Its been quite a long time since I was last here... anyway : I've been writing another music making program, much more powerful than my last one and one nice thing with it is the file selector... but here is the problem, QB captures disk access errors... I don't even use QB's internal file managemen...

Pretty nice start you have there :D

I hate x86 ASM, I did write a 2000 line library for my QB stuff though :P
Nothing beats 680x0 series when it comes to ASM 8)

a necropost, but the ST is 16bit... 68000 is not 32bit, though it can perform 32bit operations... Mega Drive / Genesis would be 32bit too then :P

Have fun :P 'Meanwhile attempting to teach my brother how to program in QB I coded this 'tiny "game": some type of EGA shooter with some cheesy graphics, has some 'form of pixel by pixel scrolling and is extremely slow due to the nature 'of EGA (and how QB uses it). This is probabl...

Retro game systems should not be programmed in anything besides ASM.... Z80 ASM is quite nice, and I prefer it over x86... it does not beat 680x0 though :P You can probably burn a 32KB EPROM, but if you want more then you need some banking method, best method is to use an existing game and replace i...

I made some music

http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/4/21/1876835/SKPC1012.ogg Its a remake of one unused tune in Sonic&Knuckles collection on PC. What you hear is how it sounds from my audio modded MD2 using my sound system I have been working on for quite some time. I hope you like it, I sure do :D (I'm not fond...

Assemblies and QB are only things that really make sense to me as of yet. I'm doing more stuff in assembly than in QB... 68000 and Z80 asm are what am messing with the most.

You need to use a different DSP command to get recording actions going on...

You need a sound card that you can control, old ISA based Sound Blasters are quite easy, and there's enough documentation.

MD2 is slaved by a PC running a QB45 program !!!

The tracker is written in QB45, and through a cable it makes my trusty MD2 do sound. I have not added FM stuff to this yet, but will get around doing so in nearer future.

QB45 lives on in the world of MD/Genny :)
