I would not attempt to work out why or how a team of programmers came up with the logic that they did to solve this problem. If I set a problem that was unsolvable to four different teams and asked them to get the best solution, I would likely get four different solutions.

Ralph, computers struggle with decimals because of the way that bits are divided into packets of eight. This program may show better the way that the computer handles Single,Double precision and decimals that are an eigth of 1. CLS DIM i AS DOUBLE REM Using double precision with decimals, very messy...

As Clippy says QB uses double precision , which I would class as a bug. The reason it prints the 25 correctly, is because it is printing in single precision. This removes any garbage at the end. Another way out would be to make x^2 into a variable as below. CLS FOR x = 1 TO 10 IF (x) + (x * x) = 30 ...

You do not need me now because QBasic.com is now number two on Google for QBasic. I could never work with an editor but you have done well, thanks.

Well done Mark this is a big improvement on the old site and should last well into the future.

Email reply from Mark after I told him about the poor state of QBasic.com. Poor state? What should it link to? What should it be? I've asked that question before and never got a straight answer. I doubt anyone knows what they really want out of it. Selling it would be stupid, because then everyone w...

I have sent another email to Mark explaining the situation. Pete,s site is and probably has always been the best but that does not mean that we should let QBasic.com die. For some reason Mallard made N54 the discussion site for QBasic.com and that is an historic anomaly that we are going to have to ...

As the last Super Moderator at QBasic.com, I will have to state the position as I know it. Mark also owns AionSource, the English language site for a Korean ? game, that had 72 members and 193 guests visiting in the last 15 minutes. Which makes me think that he is not really interested in QBasic.com...

I think that QBasic.com is worth saving for the the original site, which is history. As for you and me still being banned at N54, perhaps Pete does not want us back . lol

How low can Zip get. Galleon copied Mac's memorial thread in case N54 could not be saved, but Zip had already altered my tribute to Mac before Galleon could copy it.
PS
The tribute has now been restored.

I would agree that we should work together and I will not pursue this further, other than to clear up a couple of points. The QBasic.com forum has now been closed and the QBasic forum link goes to Network54. This was after Solitaire and myself persuaded Mark to switch the forum to network54, because...

If you had visited the site you were supposed to be running or Network54, where warnigs were posted, then you would have realised that something was wrong. Mark put you in charge of games and left me to run the rest. As the games site seemed to be something between you and Mark then I left it to you...
