Sword of Mana has random enemies. When you step into an area, enemies would pop up randomly. When you finished off all the monsters, a few seconds later more random monsters would pop up. Of course, they were predetermined places so they wouldn't get stuck in walls or such, but it's RANDOMLY predet...

Pete: heh... of course your not going to get many Linux os's visiting your site... how many Linux users program in qbasic? I don't consider using Freebasic instead of qbasic abandoning it... I rather think of it as jumping ship from an old, wooden, rotten leaky rowboat to a fantastic shiny new yacht...

there are much more styles than that... for example, chrono trigger uses a very good technique where there are enemies in certain places with predetermined movement. Yeah, working with the latest is always fun, but expensive. I have (correction: using: it's not mine) an AMD Duron 800... when i first got it it was was running like it was dragging a few tons behind it... I had to go and clean it off. Now it runs better than our Dell 1700, which has a pentium 4. :D...

Heh, sounded like what happened to my laptop... Except my adapter probably still works. The thing is, it sounded like it was on it's last leg. The smell of smoke and the sound of sparking clued me in to it's demise. ;) I might send it in somewhere to see what can be done with it... probably not wort...
