Yup, the 80386 was Intel's first 32-bit processor. The 80486 was an update to the 80386 which processed more instructions and had additional instructions to reduce common functions. I believe the 80486 was the first processor to offer a math coprocessor right on the chip. The 80586 is a superscalar 80486 which offered, among other things, additional instructions and addressing modes. The 80586 is what we refer to as the "Pentium". Prior to the 80386, Intel had developed the 4044 and then the 8088, which is what IBM used in their first popular home PC. The 8086 followed, and then the 80186 which saw a very short life. The 80286 which followed was able to access additional memory (in this case, expanded memory).

I'm going from memory here so these details may be a little hazy but I'm pretty sure I got the facts straight.

Ok as you know any CPU from the 80386 up to today's CPU are 32 bits (aside the new 64bit CPUs) what differs in them is the instruction set, multimedia features, and other features that make them run faster and faster.

80486/33mhz aint so much faster than 80386/33mhz than easily could think.
80286 is way slower than 80386 and earlyer ones 8088 & 8086 are like a 10 times slower than 80286...even more.

Differences on 80486, 808386, 80286 and 8088 & 8086 how they handle commands is so big that good compare of speeds is hard on one certain way.

With my english, its pretty hard to explain deeper differences between those cpu's so ill give some other do that
